Why People who Droll Over Giving Power to Government Today Should be Scared about Future?

It’s a common practice in the information era to celebrate the victory of your government when they achieve something regardless of how they achieve it. However, giving power to government is bad idea in general. While on a global scale people will celebrate war, terrorist activities or cross border interventions. On local scales, these kinds of activities can express themselves in form of tyranny against minority groups. Over the last two and a half years we have seen the government take more and more power away from people. While this mostly came in form of medical guides, it later expanded to things most people never thought of.

Let us take an example from one of my favourite countries across Europe. Poland was one of the first countries around Europe to resist mandatory COVID lockdown. But not long into the whole chaotic fear the left-wing of Poland started working their way into making people believe a lockdown was very much needed and was costing lives in the country. While not only this was just outright a lie, it was also political propaganda to score points against the running government.

Regardless, it worked out and the left-wing of the country celebrated this as a victory for their politics since the masses would consider this as a defeat of the running government. However, only a few months later, while the dust still hadn’t settled completely Polish Government signed a decree that would ban abortion access for women across the country unless there was an acceptable reason for this. This bill created chaos for the left-wing since it caused a stir for women right across the EU. Not only did the Polish government face a backlash locally it had to face repercussions in the EU as well as globally.

Sadly, a precinct was already set, and medical autonomy no longer existed in the European framework and was overshadowed by recent global development. This not only happened in Poland but in many other European and non-European countries. In France, the crisis was used to overshadow the yellow west protest, in Greece it was used to stop student protests, even in China it was used to prevent Hong Kong protests. Although each was celebrated by a group of people, one who considers this as their own political victory, but little do they know all of this can come to bite them back in future, only it will be much worse.

I want everyone reading this to just imagine for a second the most extremist political leader you can think of, for me it will be Genghis Khan, and think all the power your own government has what of somehow this person secures it. Remember, seizing power is quite easy if you don’t have a moral obligation to play fair and an evil person has no morals. I can guarantee for myself I would never want this sort of power in the hand of a saint let alone an evil person.

Hence, the best idea we have for now is to limit government power as much as possible to a point that even if a tyrannical government takes over, the weakest individual in the country can take a stronger stance against the tranny.
